A Speculative Fiction (?) Blog

Overview
I have established this blog as a repository for writing other than my professional publications. Various contributions are to be presented, including short stories, fictional reviews, and possibly some poetry. To begin with, I posted my appraisal of the work of the pioneering film-maker, Vernilak, under the title “A Good Egg”. (I would love to work this into a documentary for film or TV at some point.) This is succeeded by a couple of short stories, and then I will present excerpts from a long-unfinished PKD-inspired novel.
Introduction
The initial contribution, “A Good Egg”, is presented in a number of separate blog entries. Part 1 introduces the man and discusses “Mystery Jet”. Part 2 discusses his interplanetary trilogy, featuring visits to the Moon, Mars and Venus. Part 3 deals with the pathbreaking “As It Was”, while Part 4 examines the successful “Hatchlings”. The final films, “Shambala” and “Swansong” are considered in Part 5, and Part 6 concludes with an assessment of his current relevance, and the influence of his time-travel ideas on contemporary science.
Some shorter works are posted as single blog entries, beginning with the (more conventional) short stories like “Sunflowers” and the (very short) “The Visitor“.
